We hope everyone had a wonderful time at our Simpson Academy Carnival. Please take a few moments to watch a slide-show video of our day. You might see someone you know! ;)
Last week juniors and seniors visited the Circuit Court. They had a chance to watch trials in action and talk with judges. Afterward our Butterflies had lunch at the Allegro Hotel, and listened to guest speakers, women's business leaders and entrepreneurs. A wonderful experience for everyone!
The Simpson Journalism and Media Production students have been working on making commercials. We wrote, directed and filmed them ourselves. Here are a few we've finished. Stay tuned for more to come!
If you're wondering where we've been, there's been a lot of changes this past month. We've had our first class of 2013 receive all of their credits for graduation in January! We have also started our new courses. That means we give our thanks, and say good-bye to the previous journalism staff, and welcome a new staff! We've been working hard on learning about journalistic law and ethics, as well as what makes a story newsworthy, and the journalistic pyramid-style of news writing. We will continue to bring you the latest happenings here at Simpson Academy. Stay tuned!

Mr. Korrub keeps the crown for the second year in a row! We'd like to thank all of our teachers and school administration for their hard work and dedication. We all work very hard through the year, and to have moments like these to enjoy is very precious to us. Thank you to all Simpson students and staff for making our Winter Blitz memorable. We look forward to getting back to work, more memorable days ahead, and the New Year!
Simpson Academy Ladies had an amazing time at the Field Museum. We viewed many exhibits, shared lunch with friends, and walked until we tired ourselves out! There's so much to see and do, that we'd never have enough time in one day to view it all. Thanks to Ms. Ross for organizing our trip. We had a wonderful time, and even learned a few new things.
Last week, Simpson Academy Juniors and Seniors were treated to a special career event. We visited one of the Mario Tricoci University locations at 6458 N Sheridan Road. Our hosts were very gracious, and provided our Butterflies with a day of demonstrations, information about educational and career opportunities in the beauty industry, and shared their own student experiences. Thank you to all the staff and students at Tricoci for giving us a fantastic day. We were very impressed! Visit the Tricoci website here: http://www.tricociuniversity.com/
Here's a look at some of what we did.
