Our Journalism and Media class has finished our very first video! We wanted to create a "commercial" of sorts for our school, to show the world that We Are Simpson; More than just a school! We filmed all over the school and tried to include as much as possible in one minute. So here you go... Simpson Academy in a minute. We hope you enjoy our work, because we enjoyed making it. Our next project will be a documentary, so be on the look out for us with cameras in hand.
Spirit Week was filled with dress-up days, including Twin Day, Pajama Day, Dress Like a Boy Day, and Rep Your Class Day. Thanks to everyone who participated! Check out some of our participants below!
Homecoming Dance Divas!
Homecoming Dance was held on October 26 a the Montefiore gymnasium. It was a chance to kick back, and hang out with friends. Our hope is that our next event will be even better! Thanks to everyone who joined us.
This Friday, students at Simpson Academy gathered to support the fight against breast cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and a member of our extended Simpson Family, the wife of Mr. Vargas, is currently battling breast cancer. We want to share our love and support for Mrs. Vargas and for all those fighting this disease. Talk to friends, family and loved ones, and remind them about keeping up to date with breast cancer screenings and mammograms.
Next week we're ready for progress reports, so many of us have taken exams this week. Next week will also be very busy for us with Wednesday movie day! Movie tickets are $2.00 and include your first bag of popcorn. We'll also be selling soft-drinks and hot dogs for $1.00 each. Additional bags of popcorn will sell for $1.00. Come join us for monthly kudos and a movie!
See you next week!

Congratulations are in order for Simpson Academy's new class officers! This past week we held student elections. Deborah Smiley, is our new President, Margarie Buie, Vice-President, Sandra Wade is our Secretary, and Micayla Simmons is our S.W.A.N/homeroom coordinator.
In other news, we've started some fundraising. Please help us by satisfying your craving for chocolate or chips! Candy bars and small chip bags are for sale during lunch periods. All students will benefit from our fundraising efforts. Be on the lookout for other activities, including movie days.
E.P.I.C Dance team tryouts
The E.P.I.C. dance team held try-outs this past week. The team is working hard on a new routine, and it's looking good! Practices are every day. We're looking forward to watching their performances.
Journalism class is also going well, and we'll be ready to roll out our first monthly issue soon. Keep an eye out for us!
See you next week,
