The I AM art exhibit held on March 21st was a huge success! This exhibit featured art from students around the city. We are proud of Ms. Tang and all of our students who participated in creating a beautiful piece of artwork. Check out some photos below of this amazing event!

His teaching credits include Columbia College, Beverly Arts Center, Old Town School of Folk Music, Grant Elementary School, Crunch Fitness Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance, Chicago Cultural Center and Danza Viva. Thanks a ton, Chris, for sharing your talents and spirit with us!
Each student in Ms. Tang's art classes got a puzzle piece and had to choose a positive message/quote and paired it with a visual using acrylic paint. This piece will be presented at the I AM Student Art Exhibition at the Bridgeport Art Center. The opening night is March 21st from 6:00 pm - 10 pm, and runs through April 7th. Visit www.humanthread.net for more information.

Here's our artists' statement: "What inspires you to stay positive? Students of Simpson Academy, a unique school for parenting teens, created a visual representation of what keeps them positive to counter the stigma of what it means to be a teen mom in today’s society. Each individual brought a unique perspective and talent and with the right combination of people, beautiful artwork was created. Our goal was to create a positive piece that represents, inspires and speaks to our community of young mothers."
